An NPC, or non-player character, is any character other than those that are controlled by the player, for example townsfolk, wildlife, or non-hostile creatures. Dialogue can be attached to an NPC to allow a conversation to be initiated by the player, either from their Entity Properties in the Map Editor or the Set Dialogue scripting function.
An NPC's movement behavior (for example, whether they will walk around freely or stay confined to a specific area) is determined by their “Movement Area” property. See the “Character Properties” section of the Entity Properties page for more information.
